Long Beach Mother Shot to Death After Dropping Off Her Toddler

Thursday morning attack happened on Walnut Avenue.

A 23-year-old woman was shot to death Thursday morning in an apartment courtyard moments after she left her 3-year-old child with a Long Beach relative, police said.

Detectives have no known motive for the murder of Jazzmine Wash of Long Beach, who left the apartment to retrieve a diaper  bag at about 6:20 a.m. in the 500 block of Walnut Avenue and "residents in the area then heard several shots fired," a police news release stated, adding:
