Update: Trayvon Martin Protest at Long Beach Courthouse Went Peacefully

Update: The Trayvon Martin protest outside the downtown Long Beach Courthouse drew 80 people Friday and the rally was peaceful as planned, witnesses said. Long Beach Police Department's media team confirmed there were no major problems.

Pre-rally story:
A peaceful rally is planned outside the Long Beach Courthouse Friday in protest of the acquittal verdict in the Trayvon Martin murder trial, the Press Telegram has reported.

The noon rally was organized by P.E.A.C.E. - Protecting Everyone America Created Equality, which announced that it's aim is promoting harmony and equal justice.

Zimmerman argued that Trayvon Martin attacked him and he shot him in self defense, while the prosecution charged that he provoked a confrontation that otherwise would not have happened.

The teen was carrying Skittles and a bottle of ice tea, and both will be handed out Friday to attendees of the Long Beach rally.
