Kristen Wielert, Neighbor

Kristen Wielert is the Founder of Kids Under Construction, Inc., a one-on-one tutoring company based in Long Beach, CA. Kristen earned a Bachelor&#39;s Degree from UCLA in 2005 and Multiple Subject Credential from CSULB in May 2008. What began as a request for a tutor from a local teacher quickly became a full-time business. She specializes in reading and math instruction for elementary students, and works in conjunction with parents and classroom teachers.<br><br>Kristen says, &#34;Our approach to our curriculum is simple: every student learns best in a different way. Some students need hands-on activities to understand concepts, and others benefit more from repetition and memorization. We take input from the people that know the student best (parents and the student&#39;s teacher), and merge these ideas with the standards that the state expects all students to master at that grade level.&#34;

In addition to running her business, she is also a favorite, local substitute teacher for LBUSD and is actively involved in the Naples Island Business Association.
