Cassie Roque earned a bachelor's of science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine. There, she studied sharks for two years in a Biomechanics laboratory and earned an Excellence in Research award and publication by the university as well as the Journal of Morphology .
Cassie Roque began working with homeless pets at the Irvine Animal Care Center where she worked as an Animal Care Attendant and veterinary assistant. Cassie became a Supervising Animal Care Attendant with the San Diego Department of Animal Care and Control, where she performed behavior evaluations, coordinated with over 100 animal rescue organizations, and provided day-to-day supervision over the kennel staff and inventory. Cassie's most recent contribution to animal welfare was working as a Program Coordinator for the Found Animals Foundation where she established the ModPawd adoption center in Downey, CA and helped to orchestrate county-wide adoption events.
Aside from her love for animals, Roque's hobbies include traveling, crafts, yoga, and cake decorating.
