The City of Long Beach owns this heated indoor pool whose floor-to-ceiling glass walls afford a beautiful view of theMore beach and of Belmont Veterans Memorial Pier.</p> <p>The pool is very popular in the summer, when lifeguards are on duty during most non-competition swimming times. Multiple Olympic Gold Medalist Michael Phelps and other Olympic or aspiring Olympic athletes have competed in these 16 lanes. An added bonus many locals don't know about: the small but fully outfitted weight room next to the front desk.</p>

The restaurant serves classic American fare with international flavor, and the service is well-regarded locally.</p> <p>The picturesque outdoor patio (with room for 40) gives diners a view of the beachfront, the Long Beach skyline, the Queen Mary and beachgoers along the bike path. For parking, go to the Belmont Plaza Pool beach lot, and park by the Belmont Pier at the far right of the lot. Parking rates are $1 per hour until 6pm daily, and free in the evenings.</p>
