About 20 years ago, my husband was hit in the face by a drunk dodger fan and the man continued untilRead More I showed up in front of the man---Pregnant--two weeks due and was yelling and asking him what he was doing and why he had hit my husband in the face. Someone from dodger stadium came and wrote the incident down but nothing happened---No apology---nothing. Never once in the illegal recording of the private conversation between Mr. Sterling and the paidRead More hooker did he refer to black people as ni__ers. He referred to them as black people which is acceptable. He was upset that the whore he see's regularly wanted to bring her black male friends to his teams games. They made a mountain out of a mole hill because they hate him and have wanted to get back at Mr. Sterling for a long, long time. Magic Johnson, Al Sharpton Oprah Winfrey and the rest sit around and wait for a famous white person to misspeak and pounce. You know darn well they have said worse about white people in private conversations. Such hypocrites!

It is a bit of a quantum leap to equate a rich celebrity cheating on their wife with some other goodRead More looking female who is either a willing sex partner, or a gold digger looking for a pay day, with a rapist. Rape is usually about revenge, power, anger, payback, etc. Tiger Woods and the others had sex with a lot of other good looking women because they could. Apples and oranges. And just curious Bob the dentist, how are you such an expert on rape? You admit to never having been raped, yet you are so quick to opine that just because somebody finds her story to have some credibility issues, you assume they are chauvinistic, misogynistic, and uneducated? Or have we arrived at the point where any female who makes an allegation should automatically be believed?

Desert Rat....Let me clarify..I am not equating rape with high risk sex...I was only saying thatRead More many men, in the celebrity life and otherwise, will risk everything, their careers, etc., to have sex....be it consensual or non consensual. As far as assuming that the women is telling the truth...I have no idea....without more info it would be presumptuous of me to assume anything...it is true, however, that many many men get away with rape, mostly recently Jameis Winston...the evidence against is hard to refute.....I would guess that very few rapes get reported as a percentage of total rapes...the statistics bare this out...and even fewer rapes, still, are prosecuted...thus, not too much fear of any athlete being sent to jail for rape. Mike Tyson is the only one I can think of though I am sure there must be others....

Nothing happened to the official who called Obama a nigger. He did not even apologize. Sterling never called black people niggers in the recording.
mimi May 21, 2014 at 11:02 am
Sterling has a documented history of discrimination against minority groups. The phone conversationRead More tape is not the reason he is being ousted. It was the red flag. It was followed up by intelligent research into his past PUBLIC behavior and business practices, all of which revealed bigotry and racism. He has the dubious distinction of holding the record for the greatest number of fair housing violations, as well as the largest monetary fine enforced by the California legal system. The point is Sterling's actions make him a criminal. His conversations make him a racist. Any other conclusion is mindless spin.
George May 21, 2014 at 11:18 am
Obviously he is not a racist as he has a black hooker as a bed partner. He likes blacks. He did notRead More want to share her attention with her black friends thus he said DO NOT BRING YOUR BLACK FRIENDS TO MY GAMES period! Also, it is not illegal to be a racist. Lots of people are. The cases regarding his treatment of his tenants in these apartment buildings he owns has nothing to do with the NBA's silly decision to continue this stand when the courts will ultimately side with Mr. Sterling. You can not force people to sell property. This is America!

Alan I agree. Parents coach to get their kids and kids friends a leg up. Kids are choosen too basedRead More on parents and kids being friends. Take AAU and All-Stars and positions in each sport. Parents coach because they want their kid in prime positions, kids are friends with certain kids or because a family does not like someone but the kid has talent not playing. CowDung July 23, 2014 at 07:20 am

Again - this issue is about a material breach of contract. It is a standard morals, character andRead More behavior clause issue. Any violation of Mr. Sterling's privacy rights is between him and his mistress. Since the NBA and its franchisees are harmless, the censure and fine will stick. Sterling has a history of being litigious - so he may well litigate even if all the franchisees force him out, which they will. Either way through a conservator or sale - Sterling is out of the Clippers management business. This isn't a 1st Amendment issue - as no censorship or punishment was rendered by the federal government. Beast, the impact of the communication still violates Sterling's contract. This this not like a 4th Amendment "fruit of the poisonous tree case" - there is no wrongful federal or state government involvement. Sterling will need to seek redress from his mistress. And, he may seek redress from TMZ if they obtained the tape illegally. Which, as of yet there is no indication.
