Volunteers Sought for 4th of July Kids’ Bike Parade

Justin Rudd's nonprofit is looking for helpers for the morning bike path event

Looking for a way to show your red, white and blue spirit this Fourth of July?

Justin Rudd and his nonprofit organization, “Community Action Team,” are looking for patriotic volunteers to help out on Monday, July 4th, at 9 am at the “Great American 4th of July Kids’ Bike Parade.”

If interested, you may e-mail Justin Rudd at Justin@JustinRudd.com.  The need includes bringing plenty of unique art and craft supplies and about 4-5 bags of ice to keep the free drinks cool for those participating in the ride, for which it will be hot. paradeJu

The parade will kick-start at 10am with a greeting from two bike officers following the national anthem. And it is all free.

There will be plenty of contests in different categories ranging from patriotic speeches, costume contests (and plenty of watermelon spitting. Pre-registration begins at 9:15 am the day of the parade.  If your child is planning to participate in the parade, they’ll have the opportunity to put their creative juices to work as they decorate bikes with U.S. flags, colorful adornments and much more!

During the parade, Rudd said, dozens of hard-working and exceptional students who do not own bikes will be awarded with new bikes. More than 300 kids are expected to show up for the event, which will go down Bay Shore Avenue all the way to 2nd Street.
