The Queen Mary. Haunted? or not?

Do you believe in ghosts? I don't know if I do, but I stay as far away from them as I can get.

I received an email from the Queen Mary about their new Dark Harbor additions and their season pass with Fast Fright privileges (only $50) which can only be purchased through August 19th (Monday) - See more at: http://www.queenmary.com/dark-harbor/?chebs=eblast-81513#sthash.u2Q1xkrJ.dpuf  This brings to mind my visit to the Queen in search of evidence of Ghosties.

On the subject of haunted ships and Ghosties... Well, I could tell you I don't believe in Ghosties, but I'll tell you a story from earlier this year when I volunteered for the SteamPunk weekend on the Queen Mary.

I'd been volunteering for a day and a bit, and it was the time of the Queen's Ball on Saturday night.  I went to the ladies room on the deck that has the Grand Ballroom.  If I get the names of the rooms and decks wrong, please forgive me.  Well, I visited the ladies room.  I was behind another gal who'd just entered and the door was swinging shut.  As I entered the ante-room, a closet door to the right of me swung open, and it seemed that there was someone sitting in the closet in Victorian dress.  Frightened, but thinking that there might be an employee dressed up as a Ghostie in the closet, I went around the corner where I knew there was someone else.  On my way out, the closet door was shut.  I wan't waiting around to check inside.  I was just getting as far away from that ladies' room as possible.  Later I found out that it wasn't something that hotel employees do...sit in closets waiting to scare the guests. Ghostie?  Perhaps.

Now my Friend Caprice (Hands of E.T.)... she'd performed Shakespeare with Bard in the Yard on the Queen Mary many aeons ago.  One of the plays was "The Winter's Tale" and she recounted to me their experiences with a young Ghostie who had died in a swimming pool accident when the Queen was herself jut a lass.  That Ghostie showed up during rehearsals and the show itself.  A friendly Ghostie.  Every night they acknowledged her before the play went on its way.

So Caprice an I went in search of Ghosties on the Queen.  We took tons of video and photographs.  I wish I could show them to you, but none of them came out.  There were halos and ethers in all the photos.  Ghosties? Perhaps.

So we'll never know if there are year-round Ghosties on the Queen.  We found out that there are frequent reports of ghost sightings, and there's even a log of these sightings.

Regardless, you can get yourself good and scared this October starting on October 3rd!
