My Friend Teresa, Una Mariposa
Every Wednesday, I visit with a group I call Las Mariposas. Moms who are preparing to host the Mariposa Festival in September at the Cultural Alliance.
The Monarch Butterflies will be travelling south to Morelia, Mexico. We will be celebrating with handmade crafts, traditional food, music, arts and crafts for the kids and more.
We're still visualizing. Planning is fun. We talk of fashion shows and long dresses with butterflies on them. It's fun. We're having a lot of fun.
There's much to be done. We learn sewing, embroidery, crafting and more. We talk about making individual YouTube channels and connecting them together.
But I want to tell you about Teresa, my new Friend. Teresa is just like me. She's interested in a whole bunch of stuff. She loves to make things, but she has just a few things she has made to show because she gives them away as soon as they are made.
And today, I would like to introduce to you, the Long Beach Patch's newest blogger, Teresa Garcia, who will be blogging about events, people and happenings in the downtown Long Beach area. I expect she will also be blogging about things she likes to make or would like to make. And I hope that she will be starting a YouTube channel that we can work on for her.
