I'm at the Bay Area Maker Faire and meeting some old friends and new. It's a great place to learn about new - fun - trends in education and technology and fun.

Mad Hatter's Sofa Ride
Accompanied by his teapot, the Mad Hatter is at the faire in full dress. He brought his transportation for getting from one part of the faire to another, and his sofa so that he can have his very own place to sit. He does need a little room to turn it around, however.
Ride in a Model-T
I couldn't turn down a ride in a classic Model-T. New Friend Erica was inspired to love antique cars when her grandfather gave her one for her birthday. It was her first car. She now belongs to the Bay Area Horseless Carriage Club which is a source of information for parts and repairs and often goes out touring in a parade of antique cars on a weekend. I filmed the view from the passenger seat-SO fun! They are surprisingly affordable AND, I'm looking for a new car! Hm... Notice the water snakes that we passed on the way.
Steampunk Goggles
I was introduced to Steampunk by my husband Don, and attended the Steampunk event at the Queen Mary. Steampunk culture combines science fiction and the Victorian Era with every other era in any way desired. When you are introduced to Steampunk the first thing you notice is the goggles, required for time travel. Steampunk usually involves using much leather and wood and gears.
Captain Chronomech, who I met at the last Maker Faire hosted a DIY Steampunk Goggles workshop.
Build Your Own Modded PC
The new tech craze for artists and gamers. Add some neon and a flash or two or three of color to your PC. Why? Because it's cool and it adds a challenge where it's not needed. Of course!
