Congratulations Fusion Energi Adventure Winner: Justine Ferrari!
OK. So we didn't win, but I still like the idea of an HOV sticker!
20 year old Justine Ferrari hails from Fairfax, Virginia and is the new winner of a FORD Fusion and the Fusion Energi Adventure.
Congratulations, Justine!
Justine's Fusion Energi Adventure will take her to California, a destination picked by more than its fair share of contestants... Go, go, California!
She's going to start in San Diego, learn to surf and visit La Jolla's land accessible sea cave... Sunny Jim Cave. I've been there, and it's very cool. Thumbs up, Justine, for picking La Jolla... Even us Southern Californians pick La Jolla!
Para-sailing in Newport Beach (can you do that?) is followed by a trip to Los Angeles to hike to the Hollywood Sign and visit the Walk of Fame. Venice Beach is followed by Santa Monica Pier sunset from the ferris wheel.
Next is a hike in Escondido Canyon Park in Malibu to see a waterfall (will there be a waterfall in November?) and a Helicopter ride in Oxnard.
Hey, Justine, if you want to stop off in Long Beach, I'd love to check out your progress!
All along, Justine plans to use just one tank of gas. I'm interested to see how this goes. I've checked out the Fusion Energi (yes - I, too, was a contestant) and it can be recharged from a household outlet (but you can install a 240V outlet if you so choose... If Justine plans well and finds the right places to plug in when she overnights or parks for one part of her trip or another, the 600+ mile trip is entirely possible on one tank of gas.
The interesting thing for me, coming out of this Fusion Energi Adventure Adventure was the realization that the automobile companies are really working on heading the Electric way! Financial and other incentives by the Federal Government, including the oh-so-valuable time-saving HOV Sticker incentives have been created and extended.

So... if you've got a long commute and you're in the market for a car, you can save on fuel, save on purchase costs (admittedly higher for a hybrid that can go all-electric or an all-electric vehicle) and more importantly, save on time by purchasing from the list!
