Pepsi Refresh Grant: Who's behind the Votes for the top 5 in the $50K category? Trish Tsoi-a-Sue

One Pepsi Refresh contestant's reconnaissance into the competitions' tactics for getting votes.

I've got a grant in the voting for the Pepsi Refresh Project $50K category.  Please vote for the Scout Sea Base! Put a new community kitchen in at the BSA Sea Base. Text* 109826 to Pepsi (73774) to vote from your mobile.

I must say... I'm frustrated by those top 10 leaders, and more than a little bit curious about who's voting for them.  So... I did a little recon.  The Facebook pages are part of their grant submission... so hey! Public information, right?

Before I go on, I need to add that the conclusions listed here are my very own, based upon what I see on the facebook pages and sometimes the websites.

Today's top 5 leaders:

#1/ Launch a virtual "I Dream A School" Campaign across America.

Advancement Project, DC. Their Facebook page calls out Co-Director is Judith Browne Dianis.  She is a civil rights litigator and seems to get around.  The word occupy shows up a lot, and a little bit of 'Move On'.

#2/ Ensure children with disabilities do not sit on the sidelines.

The National Inclusion Project is is a North Carolina based group that has 2,929 friends. Hey? What's this?  Sign up for a daily reminder to vote and A CHANCE TO WIN AN IPAD?  Hm... gotta add that to my notes.... Offer IPad.

#3/ Mize! Inspire students with interactive whiteboards and technology.

Mize Elementary School.  They've got BOTH Clorox AND Pepsi voting grants in play! Announcing over the school loudspeakers! AND they're taking flyers to the local businesses, the Chamber of Commerce AND City halls of not just their cities, but neighboring cities also! AND THEY ARE SENDING COOKIES TO THE SECONDARY SCHOOLS!!!

#4/Purchase or build a safe haven for kids with cancer to make memories.

Kids of Childhood Cancer.  Their Facebook page was not found, and they aren't coming up in a search.  The grant is advertised on their web page...

#5/  Save more dogs by developing a rescue management system.

Lab Rescue LCRP, MD, VA and DC. Facebook Members 3,173.  Daily reminders to their members and HEY!  What's THIS? The DOG is asking people to vote?

Oh wow! I feel so... unprepared!  I have no daily platform, no political clout, no Twitter account, no iPad to offer, no cookies to send, no dog to speak for me! It's no WONDER that the Scout Sea Base grant is stuck at 76!

IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE WHO'LL VOTE FOR THE SCOUT SEA BASE GRANT? RANDOM STRANGERS, PLEASE VOTE!
