. I'm taking the opportunity of this unplanned time off to connect with the many artists and creators in this wonderful city that I love. Come with me on my 100-day odyssey of art and creativity in Long Beach. I call it .
When you have a vision and you are passionate about it, you will find a way to make it happen. Local production team Mark Cardone, Linda Palmer and Sandy Robinson of RunAway Productions want your help in getting the soundtrack for Long Beach production Halloween Party eligible for an Oscar nomination.
Patch covered the back in March of this year.
September 10th is Day 71. I watched the movie and listened to the soundtrack for Halloween Party.
The production team is very excited about their first feature length film, which will be available on Amazon this October. Before that, though they are working to meet the eligibility criteria for the nomination of the movie's soundtrack for an Oscar in the "Best Original Song" category. This requires opening the show for a week in LA, advertising it and hiring a publicist.
I've got a truly untrained ear. I couldn't clap in tune to Old Mac Donald if I tried. Still, I want to tell you... the songs from the soundtrack are really great and during the campaign to raise $7K on Indiegogo are available for free on Soundcloud. It reminds me of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and The Little Shop of Horrors, very smooth and upbeat. It's a great addition to your Halloween soundtrack. Listen, and decide for yourself.
The songs and songwriters to be considered are:
VOODOO written by Bruce Michael Miller & CJ Watson
MY MAMA WARNED ME written by Bruce Michael Miller & CJ Watson
READ THE BOOK writen by CJ Watson, Donna Britton & David Norris
MONSTER PARTY written by CJ Watson & Al Detrolio
MAKE ME CRY WOLF written by Mark D. Conklin
EYES written by Bryan Steele
Shot entirely in Long Beach, Halloween Party is a feature length Halloween themed movie with over 50% of the cast being from Long Beach!
If you're familiar with the Belmont Shore area, you may recognize the homes in the movie. One home in particular lent itself well to the filming, with a 5-level open floor plan that facilitated the camera angles for the many scenes.
If you'd like to help them meet their $7K goal in their Indie-a-go-go campaign, you can make a donation at their campaign site.
The movie is not rated, but parents should please preview the movie, as there are some mature scenes in the movie.
