Wilson's Sean Buckle Drafted by the New York Mets

The Bruins pitcher was picked up in the Major League Baseball draft earlier this week.

Long Beach Wilson High School pitcher Sean Buckle was selected by the New York Mets in the 49th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball June Amateur Draft.

The 5-foot-11, 165-pound left-hander was 1-0 with a 2.07 ERA for the Bruins, who finished as the CIF runners-up this season.  He struck out 35 batters in 27 innings pitched and also played outfield for Wilson. Offensively, Buckle hit .368 with two home runs, 16 RBI and 15 stolen bases.
