The big bass are biting and there's an hour to spare before this weekend's first twilight outing launches with Long Beach's Native Sun and Fishing With Phil, our Patch waterfront writer.
From a recent trip, via Philip Friedman Outdoors:
"Great times Fishing with Phil on the twilight Native Sun out of Long Beach Sportfishing. Market squid are back in the local environment and that means MORE BIG BASS. Captain Gabriel Ceballos expertly anchored the Fishing with Phil group over a honey hole of nice bass and the fun was on.
"Sand and calico bass, sculpin, treefish, rockfish, octopus, and other species made for a great night of twilight fishing Saturday night. It wasn't longer after you dropped your bait down that you either had a bite or a hook-up."
