An estimated 3,500 spectators watched the U.S. Women's National Volleyball Team beat Japan 3-1 at The Pyramid at Cal State Long Beach Friday night, a team that included 40-year-old CSULB alum Danielle Scott.

It was the team's second consecutive win in the USA Volleyball Cup match, which continues Saturday night. And it was Scott's first time wearing the U.S.A. jersey for play at her alma mater, the team reported. She turns 41 in October.

The results Friday: 25-17, 26-24, 18-25, 25-20.

"The USA Volleyball Cup concludes Saturday night at 7 p.m. with the same two teams meeting at JSerra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano," reported Bill Kauffman, USA Volleyball Senior Manager of Communications. "The Americans won the opening match 23-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-23 on July 10 at UC San Diego. The USA team is now 7-0 on the season in Karch Kiraly’s first season as head coach."
