Sea Festival Adds Beach Volleyball To Summer Lineup
Pro beach volleyball comes to Long Beach as a highlight event of this summer's Sea Festival.
The Long Beach Sea Festival has added beach volleyball to its list of summertime events with the addition of the World Series Of Beach Volleyball.
This is a first-time event featuring Olympic beach volleyball players such as Keri Walsh Jennings in a USA-vs-the-world FIBA Beach Volleyball World Tour event. But that's not all; there are also four- and six-person teams competing in separate tournaments.
It runs all week, July 2-28, and reaches its peak on the weekend. That's when it turns from just volleyball to a huge beach party. There are bands, DJs, a Bud Light beer garden and a bikini contest. The music starts at noon on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The location is Marina Green and Alamitos Beach off Shoreline Drive. And it's free! Well, you can buy VIP tickets ($50) for what the event calls "premium seating."
This promises to be an epic event, one of the biggest and best of the summer!
