The chancellor will be there at 7 a.m., -- on campus at 1250 Bellflower Blvd. -- with a variety of activities, performances and presentations planned with students, administrators, faculty and staff, officials said.
The visit is part of the chancellor's effort to familiarize himself with all 23 universities in the CSU system.
White began traveling through the state shortly after stepping into his post last December.
CSULB has put together a 12-hour agenda for the chancellor’s visit, starting with an official greeting from the campus’ nationally known jazz radio station KKJZ (88.1 FM) at 7:15 a.m.
From there, there will be briefings, tours, presentations and performances, all designed to give the chancellor a glimpse of the people and programs that make CSULB the university of choice for some 36,000 students every year.
The chancellor will be welcomed
by the CSULB Trumpet Ensemble as he arrives at the amphitheater in the
Cole Conservatory of Music complex.
Later in the morning, he will go to The Walter Pyramid where he will have an opportunity for an impromptu workout with the 49er men’s and women’s basketball teams.
There will also be an open forum with the campus community and a closing reception at the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden.
