Sascha Bos: Prom Part II

Ten things I learned at Prom.

Prom, Part II

My Prom was... Amazing. Well, the event itself could have been improved, but my friends and family made it a lot of fun for me. I was so happy with the way I looked - no one else had a dress like mine, which made me feel really unique. I had a delicious dinner with my friends, who all looked great, and then I had a lot of fun dancing at the actual event with my boyfriend. Here are ten things I learned at Prom:

1. Midol contains caffeine.

2. Don't get a limo: they are expensive and cramped. If you must, try to book a cooler vehicle in advance and don't say it's for Prom! I tried to get this bus and this trolley but both were unavailable when I inquired. I think that SoCal Limousine Rentals snubbed me because I mentioned that I was going to a Prom, but California Trolley got back to me right away and was very helpful!

3. Have an awesome date. My boyfriend Kyle was super sweet and fun the whole night, and the best part of my Prom.

4. Take lots of pictures before Prom, but leave your camera home unless it fits nicely in your purse (or your date's jacket!).

5. The actual event is pretty lame (at least mine was), so have a cool group of friends and a fun pre-Prom dinner and you will have an amazing time anyway.

6. Kyle and I went in line to have our picture taken after about thirty minutes of being at Prom. We waited in line for a very long time, and by the time we left there was a shorter line (I'm guessing people like to have their picture taken right away so that their hair and makeup will still look good). I had Kyle carry a compact and tube of lipstick for me so I could touch up my makeup before we took the picture.

7. Do karaoke right away - if you wait too long your voice will get sore and you won't be able to sing!

8. Don't go on the two-minute carriage ride around the parking lot. Unless you like the smell of horse droppings.

9. Ask your family to dress up and help out with the Pre-Prom dinner. I loved having my family there, and our pictures turned out really nice because they did not look under-dressed next to me. Plus, if everyone dresses up it adds to the fancy atmosphere.

10. Bring back-up shoes. I decided at the last minute to bring a pair of black flats in a little pouch and I am so glad I did. As soon as my feet started to hurt, I slipped on my flats and headed for the dance floor! Get a pair of flats in a pouch like I did, or fit slim sandals in your purse like my friend Lizzy did. Dancing barefoot at Prom is gross, and so is having red, bleeding toes. My backup shoes saved my life!
