Chief among them will be Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl VIII—yep, there have been eight of these—and it's a huge ratings smash. • You didn't think it was live, did you? The Puppy Bowl is usually taped in the fall.
  • All puppies in the Puppy Bowl are picked from animal shelters in several states. After the show, they're shipped back home to (hopefully) be adopted.
  • 58 puppies will be used in this year's bowl. Each pup is only allowed to play for a half-hour because of the hot studio lights.
  • The bunny and chicken cheerleaders of PBs past have been replaced this year by the Piggy Pep Squad. Oink, there it isssssss!
