President Barack Obama's announcement Friday to halt deportations of young undocumented immigrants was, to no surprise, controversial, just as the subject of illegal residency and migration issues always are.
We received in our e-mail this first reaction today:
"The Los Angeles County Democratic Party applauds President Obama for his historic decision to cease deportations of young undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children and providing a method for them to receive a permit to work.
"Finally, these young people can stop living in the shadows and pursue the American Dream that they grew up aspiring to achieve. President Obama and the many young DREAMers have demonstrated exceptional courage in the fight to make America stronger by ensuring equality and justice for all."
We will post a Republican Party reaction should we receive one.
