No Retrial in Melody Ross Case

A Superior Court Judge denied the defense's request for a retrial in the Melody Ross murder case.

On Thursday, Superior Court Judge Mark Kim denied a request for a retrial by Tom Love Vinson's defense attorney, and Vinson will be sentenced Monday on convictions of first degree murder.

Vinson and Daivion Davis were arrested in early November 2009, five days after the shooting of then 16-year-old Ross, a sophomore at Wilson High School and an honor student at the time of her death.

Davis, 17, pleaded no contest to an amended count of manslaughter and to one count of attempted murder. He was sentenced to eight years and four months in juvenile custody.
