Long Beach Veteran's Day: Parking, Trash Schedule

The holiday falls on Sunday this year and parking rules may vary because of it, and some government offices will be closed Monday.

The Long Beach City Manager's Office announced an update on holiday schedules for city services and for holiday parking changes:

Veterans Day Holiday Parking and Refuse Collection Information

This year, Veterans Day lands on Sunday, November 11, 2012.  City Hall will remain open on Monday, November 12, although Federal and state offices, banks and schools are normally closed on Monday, November 12.   

Refuse collection 
·        Refuse collection will operate on its normal schedule. 

Street sweeping  
·        Street sweeping schedules are normal all week long. 

Other Services 
·        Most City services, including all Parks, Recreation and Marine and Health Department programs will operate on their normal schedule. All Libraries are closed on Mondays. 

Parking Meters 
·        Meters that are labeled as exempt on Holidays will not be enforced on Sunday. 
·        Parking meters will be enforced as usual on Monday. 
·        Hourly time zones will be enforced on Monday, but not on Sunday. 
·        Parking meters at Downtown and beach lots are always enforced, with no exemptions. 
·        Red, white and blue curbs are always enforced, with no exemptions.
