The City of Long Beach is counting down the top ten stories of 2013 on its popular Facebook page, which has nearly 13,000 likes.

The City of Long Beach is counting down the top 10 city stories of 2013 on its popular Facebook page with the tenth to be announced Tuesday.

"The City of Long Beach delivers excellent service to the community day in and day out," Mayor Bob Foster said. "These 10 stories are worthy of extra notice because they showcase how we are continuing to improve our wonderful city." 

Here is the countdown through story number two:

5. Governor George Deukmejian Courthouse Opens

4. New Fire Station 12 Opens in North Long Beach

3. Long Beach Experiences 40-Year Low for Violent Crime
