The League of Women Voters Long Beach next week will play co-host to a community meeting for disseminating information about the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare.
The meeting is set for 10 a.m. Oct. 19 at the Miller Family Health Education Center, 3820 Cherry Ave.
There will be a panel that will include Diane Stanton, deputy director of External Affairs for Covered California, which is charged with implementing “Obamacare” for the state, and Anthony Ly and Cheryl Barrit -- both of the Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services.
The Department of Health and Human Services is a partner in planning and organizing the event.
The Department of Health and Human Services is also making outreach efforts, and will provide practical information on eligibility and enrollment, while Covered California will provide an update on implementation efforts.
