Free Aquarium Admission for District 5 Residents

Resident's of Long Beach's District 5 will get free admission to the Aquarium of the Pacific Wednesday evening thanks to Gerrie Schipske.

Resident's of Long Beach's District 5 will receive free admission the Aquarium of the Pacific Wednesday evening as part of Long Beach City Councilwoman Gerry Schipske's "Open Up Long Beach" program.

With proof of District 5 residency, residents can visit the aquarium for free between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on March 6.

According to her website, Schipske set up the Open Up Long Beach initiative to help residents make the city more accountable and transparent.

"The goal is to identify innovative solutions that not only increase openness and transparency in how the City operates, but provides information for residents that will encourage collaboration and entrepreneurship," Schipske's blog states.

While Wednesday's event is free, parking at the aquarium is $8.
