Belmont Shore, Naples Voters Head to Polls

Today, Long Beach voters will be heading to the polls to participate in local elections.

The polls will remain open until 8 p.m. Tuesday. To view a pop up map of polling places and their current status, click here. For a list of polling places, view the PDF file attached to this post.

Residents will have the opportunity to vote for City Council members in Distritcts 2, 4 and 8; Long Beach Unified Board of Education Districts 2 and 4; and the Long Beach City College Board of Trustees District, according to the city’s election website.

In the District 4 City Council race, Daryl Supernaw, John Watkins and two-term councilman, Patrick O’Donnel, are facing off in a three-way challenge for the council seat. For more on the city council race, click here.

In the LBUSD District 4 race, John Meyer, a teacher and longtime LBUSD administrator, is running unopposed because Naomi Rainey has stepped out of the race. However, Rainey failed to withdraw her paperwork and as a result will still appear on the ballot, according to the Long Beach Press-Telegram. For more on the LBUSD candidates, click here.

In the LBCC District Area 4 Board of Trustees race, Davina Keiser, a Wilson High School math teacher, has challenged incumbent Doug Otto, current board president and private practice attorney, for his seat. To learn more about the LBCC District’s Board of Trustees, click here.
