Update: Wilson High Student Seriously Injured in Attack

The 16-year-old boy was assaulted by at least two and as many as six other students near the Long Beach campus, but few other details were readily available.

A 15-year-old Wilson High School student was seriously injured in a fight today with other students near the Long Beach school, according to a published report.

The boy was assaulted by at least two other students in a fight that may have been the continuation of a confrontation that began at lunchtime, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Up to six students may have been involved in the fight, according to The Times, which cited law enforcement sources it did not identify. The Long Beach Police Department did not issue a release about the incident but confirmed an incident occurred off-campus.

Police Department spokesperson Nancy Pratt said the victim was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries that he sufered in an off-campus incident just after 2 p.m. It occurred in the area of East 10th Street and North Termino Avenue, said Pratt.
