Weekend Shooting Victim Identified

The shooting may have been gang-related, police say.

Authorities today identified a 20-year-old man who was killed in a Long Beach shooting.

The victim was Christopher Franklin of Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's Lt. Larry Dietz.

Franklin was shot about 5:40 p.m. Saturday in the 3400 block of Andy Street near Downey Avenue and was pronounced dead at the scene, Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Nancy Pratt said.

No suspect information was made available.

Pratt said the killing was being investigated as possibly gang-related, but she did not elaborate.
