Three people were in custody today in connection with the killing of a man whose body was found inside a torched motor home in Long Beach.
The body of Thomas Taylor, 61, was found about 12:15 a.m. Jan. 28 after the fire was extinguished in the vehicle, which was parked in the 500 block of West 17th Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Diana Sequen, 20, of Long Beach, was arrested Monday, and she was charged with murder, according to police and the District Attorney's Office. Her arraignment was scheduled for Feb. 20 in Long Beach, according to prosecutors.
Jose Alfredo Zolorza, 19, of Long Beach, was arrested Tuesday, and he was also charged with murder, according to police and prosecutors. Zolorza pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Thursday in Long Beach. He is due back in court Feb. 14, according to the District Attorney's Office.
David Romero, 28, of Long Beach, was arrested Wednesday and booked on suspicion of murder, according to police. Romero has not been charged, according to prosecutors.
The three suspects were being held on $1 million bail each, according to police.
“The motive for the murder appears to be an ongoing dispute,” police said. “The murder involved arson, and it appears the suspects used the arson as an attempt to destroy evidence related to this crime.”
