Two people were shot in a Long Beach residential area and transported to a hospital where one died from their wounds, a police sergeant said today.
Officers were dispatched to the hospital at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, said police Sgt. Brad Johnson.
They learned two people were shot in the 1800 block of Lime Avenue and transported to a hospital where one was pronounced dead, Johnson said.
He said he did not have any information about the victims and did not have a suspect description.
At least one person was stabbed in a residential neighborhood of Long Beach and transported to a hospital for treatment while police pursued the suspects to a residential area farther north where the suspect remained barricaded inside a structure, a police sergeant said today.
The stabbing occurred at 9:45 p.m. Saturday in the 2400 block of Chestnut Avenue, Johnson said.
At least one person was wounded, Johnson said. He did not know the exact number or locations of their wounds or their genders, he said. They were transported to a hospital for treatment.
Officers located possible suspects at the scene and pursued them to 53rd Street and Locust Avenue in North Long Beach where they were barricaded inside a home and SWAT was called to the scene, Johnson said.
