Long Beach resident Richard John Aflleje, who was reported missing Wednesday morning, was found later that night on Pacific Avenue, near 23rd Street, officials said.
Family members spotted him about about 11:30 p.m. and he appeared to be unharmed; he was safe and at home with his family Thursday, police said.
The Long Beach Police Department Wednesday asked for the public's help in finding a 68-year-old Long Beach man suffering from Alzheimer's who walked away from his home.
Richard John Aflleje was last seen at his home on 53rd Street, near Olive Street at 12:30 a.m.; family members discovered he was missing at 5:49 a.m., police said.
Afileje also suffers from Dementia and needs dialysis regularly.
Afileje, who speaks English and Tagalog, is a Pacific Islander with black hair and brown eyes.
He was last seen wearing a yellow Lakers shirt and black Dickies, police said.
Afileje wears no jewelry but has an implant in his arm to facilitate dialysis.
