Police Seek Witnesses to Hit-and-Run Crash

Authorities hope someone can provide more information about an Oct. 14 incident that injured two people.

The Long Beach Police Dept. is looking for witnesses to an Oct. 14 hit-and-run collision that injured two people, one of them critically.

About 11:24 p.m. Oct. 14, police responded to the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Loma Avenue and found two people lying in the street, according to a news release from the department.

The two victims had been crossing the road from the south side when they were struck by a dark-colored sedan, possibly a Toyota or Lexus, that was travelling eastbound at a high rate of speed. According to witnesses, the car did not slow down or stop.

Both victims were transported to local hospitals. One, a 40-year-old female, was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The other was in critical condition, but has since improved. The 37-year-old female may have suffered a permanent injury, however.

Police say the vehicle likely suffered front-end damage in the collision, specifically to the right headlight area. Police ask that if anyone knows of a vehicle that matches the description, or one that recently had body work, to call in with a tip.
