Police Name Victims in Long Beach Shootings
The Thursday night shootings of three men, one of them killed, brings to five the number of shooting victims between Wednesday and Thursday nights.
Authorities Friday identified a man who was killed in what's being investigated as a Thursday night gang shooting in Long Beach that left two other men wounded.
Coupled with the two men shot Wednesday night, that brings to five young men shot blocks apart - .2 of a mile distance - near Long Beach Boulevard and 21st Street in about 24 hours.
The Long Beach Police Department's spokeswoman, Nancy Pratt, said that reports of shots being fired at about 9:15 p.m. brought police officers to the 200 block of East Hill Street, where they found three wounded men.

Sidney Wallace Jr., 19, of Los Angeles died at the scene, police said. The other men, ages 37 and 49 respectively, were taken to a hospital for treatment of wounds that were not life-threatening, police said. Their names were not released.
According to Pratt, the three men were standing in a parking lot next to an apartment complex when they were shot. No description was available of the suspect or suspects.
