Police on the Hunt for Suspect Scamming ATMs

Police detectives today released a photo of a suspect they believe may have fraudulently withdrawn about $47,000 in cash since September 2011 at ATM machines throughout Long Beach.

The scam involves depositing a fraudulent check into an unsuspecting victim's account and then utilizing a stolen ATM card to withdraw the funds before the check is cleared and found to be suspicious.

Anyone recognizing or knowing the whereabouts of the suspect was asked to call Long Beach police Detective Corey Austin at (562) 570-5562.
