Monday, August 15 and Tuesday, August 16

Monday, August 15

Council District 3  

FELONY ARREST – 6400 block of Bixby Terrace Drive – 3:30 a.m. The Long Beach Police SWAT team responded to the residence of a barricaded assault suspect attempting to elude capture by law enforcement.  SWAT team negotiators persuaded the suspect to give himself up. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Council District 7

ROBBERY – 2100 block of Santa Fe Avenue – 12:00 p.m. An adult male suspect entered a local business, threatened to assault the clerk and stole merchandise and money. There were no injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

Council District 6

ASSAULT – 1300 block of Rose Avenue – 7:00 p.m. Officers responded to the scene of an assault and found an adult female had sustained a stab wound to her torso. The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing. 

Council District 1

ROBBERY – 1000 block of Cedar Avenue – 11:00 p.m. Officers responded to the report of an adult male victim who was assaulted and robbed by three adult male suspects. The victim told officers he was knocked to the ground and had his property taken. The victim did not sustain any injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

Council District 9   

ASSAULT – 200 block of Orleans Way – 11:00 p.m. Two adult females were engaged in a verbal dispute that escalated into a stabbing. During the course of the argument one of the females armed herself with a bladed weapon and stabbed the other in the upper torso. The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Officers quickly responded and took the suspect into custody without incident.

Tuesday, August 16

Council District 8

ASSAULT – 5700 block of Paramount Boulevard – 4:00 a.m. An adult male victim was standing in the parking lot of a local business when two adult male suspects approached him and stabbed him in the torso. The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing. 

Council District 9

BURGLARY – 6800 block of Cherry Avenue – 4:30 a.m. Officers responded to an alarm activation at a local business and found the store had been broken into. Officers secured the location and discovered the suspect(s) tried to steal merchandise but fled from the scene before they were able to take anything. The investigation is ongoing.
