Minors under 21 -- supervised by LBPD -- tried to buy alcohol from businesses or in some cases approached customers outside businesses to coax them into buying alcohol for them, police said.
Officers and investigators visited 14 stores and in six of those, employees were allegedly caught selling alcohol to minors, police said.
The business were:

- 1700 E. Broadway (Liquor store)
- 1770 E. Broadway (Liquor store)
- 232 Cherry Avenue (Liquor store
- 5201 E. Pacific Coast Highway (Liquor store
- 4570 Atlantic Avenue (CVS)
During the “Shoulder Tap” operation, two tickets were issued to suspects for allegedly furnishing alcohol to minors. One additional citation was issued when undercover officers witnessed someone stealing alcohol from a business.
