A motorcyclist was shot to death in Long Beach early today, police said. It happened about 2 a.m. at the intersection of Dairy Avenue and East 56th Street, Long Beach police Sgt. Megan Zabel said.
Marcel Johns, 28, of Long Beach, died at the scene, police said. There were no arrests. No suspect information was released.
"The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was riding a motorcycle at the time he was shot, which caused him to collide into multiple parked, unoccupied vehicles," police said.
Several bullet casings were visible by the curb near where the motorcyclist fell, a news videographer reported from the scene.
