Missing Teen Found in Long Beach Tuesday

He was last seen Monday morning at his school cafeteria, and foster parents sought police help to find the mentally impaired 16-year-old.

A mentally impaired teenage boy who was missing for about 20 hours turned up in Long Beach Tuesday morning unharmed, police said, but where he had been overnight remained a mystery.

Kevin Tippen, 16, was last seen about 10 a.m. Monday at the cafeteria of Narbonne High School in Harbor City, Los Angeles Police Department said. His foster parents reported him missing and described the 5-foot-2 teen as mentally impaired with a noticeable way of walking on his toes.

He was dressed in jean shorts and green Army boots, and police had sought the public's help in finding him. It was announced that Long Beach police Department officers located him, but no further details of his disappearance have been disclosed.
