Man Pleads No Contest in String of LB Fires

A man arrested last year following a string of pleaded no contest today to arson and other felony charges.
Long Beach Superior Court Judge Charles Sheldon immediately sentenced Joshua Ethan Thomas to nearly 34 years in state prison following his plea to one count of arson of an inhabited dwelling and two counts each of attempted murder and arson of a structure or forest.
Thomas, 27, of Long Beach was in connection with a series of fires that month. On two occasions, taunting messages were left for police at the scene.
