Long Beach Police Seek Clues in Shooting

Shooting investigation has yielded few leads but detectives do have a getaway car description: Hyundai.

A car-to-car shooting by possible gang-members left a man wounded in the back earlier this month but few clues for Long Beach Police Department detectives, who are now seeking the public's help.

On May 1, 2012, in the area of 57th Street and Chestnut Avenue, near Deforest Park, a man was in a car with two other passengers that had been followed by a black sedan. From the sedan's passenger side, shots were fired into the victim's car, leaving one man wounded in the back, and two others uninjured, Long Beach Police Department press release stated.

It stated that detectives learned that the shooting was possibly by gang members, but it did not state whether the victim, unidentified, was gang-affiliated, too.
