Friday, August 26

BURGLARY – 800 block of East 70th Street – 2:30 a.m.  Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle at a private residence. Officers responded to the home, tented for fumigation, and discovered the residence had been burglarized.  The investigation is ongoing. -- Council District 9

POWER OUTAGE – Belmont Shore – 2:30 p.m. Southern California Edison reported a power outage that affected approximately 3,700 Belmont Shore residents.  The cause of the outage was unknown.  Extra patrol was conducted of the area. -- Council District 3

ASSAULT – 2100 block of Fashion Avenue – 6:00 p.m. Three male adult suspects shot at a male adult victim following a verbal altercation.  The victim was not injured and the suspects fled the scene prior to the police arriving. The investigation is continuing. --Council District 7

OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING – 10th Street and Locust Avenue – 8:00 p.m. Patrol officers were dispatched to a felony assault that had just occurred. An officer involved shooting occurred shortly after officers arrived at the scene. One male adult was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The investigation is ongoing. -- Council District 1

Saturday, August 27

FELONY SUSPECT ARRESTED – 6800 block of Obispo Avenue – 1:00 a.m. During a family argument one of the family members fired a gun at another family member.  The victim was not struck by gunfire.  The suspect was taken into custody without incident. -- Council District 9

ROBBERY – Anaheim Street and Cherry Avenue – 2:30 a.m. Two male adults robbed two victims at gunpoint.  One of the victims sustained minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing. -- Council District 4 

ASSAULT – Anaheim Street and Cedar Avenue – 3:30 a.m. A female victim was assaulted by a group of women after she left a local business. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.  The investigation is continuing. -- Council District 1

ROBBERY – Willow Street and Golden Avenue – 12:00 p.m. A male juvenile victim was assaulted and robbed of his personal property. The male adult suspect fled prior to officers arriving. The victim sustained a minor injury. The investigation is ongoing. -- Council District 7

THEFT – 700 block of Queens Way Drive – 7:00 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a trailer stolen from the rear of a vehicle. The investigation is continuing. -- Council District 2

ASSAULT – 300 block of East Anaheim Street – 7:30 p.m. A male adult walked into a local hospital with non-life threatening stab wounds to his upper body. Officers located a possible crime scene and
are continuing the investigation. -- Council District 1

ASSAULT – Willow Street and Pacific Avenue – 9:00 p.m. Officers responded to a local park regarding an assault victim. Patrol officers located a male victim who was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing. -- Council District 6

POWER OUTAGE – 500 block of Avery Place – 10:00 p.m. Southern California Edison reported a power outage due to the heat wave. The outage affected approximately 60 customers. Power was restored on 8/29/11 at 3:30 a.m. -- Council District 8     

Sunday, August 28

BURGLARY – 2000 block of West Pacific Coast Highway – 4:30 p.m. A local business reported theft from their storage yard and storage units. Officers responded and the investigation is ongoing. -- Council District 7

Monday, August 29
