Long Beach police today announced 60 arrests made over the weekend as a part of an operation with FBI agents to target pimps and human traffickers.
Detectives freed two girls and a woman from their alleged captors, police said.
Three people were arrested on suspicion of human trafficking, and three others were arrested on suspicion of pimping. The other arrests were for prostitution and drug-related crimes, police said.
The effort was a part of Operation Cross Country VIII, a four-day, nationwide effort in 106 cities. So far, 168 juveniles have been separated from about 280 pimps, who are being prosecuted.
