Long Beach Police are Looking for These Men

Composite sketches were released seeking two men connected to a Lake Elsinore man's murder.

he Long Beach Police Department today released composite sketches of two men suspected of possible involvement in a Lake Elsinore man's murder and asked the public to help identify them.

Franklin Robles was killed during a robbery Aug. 9, 2010, in the 1400 block of W. 16th St.

On Monday, homicide detectives will canvass the area where the slaying took place and hand out fliers containing the facts of the murder and the sketches.

Investigators determined that Robles traveled to Long Beach that day to buy a vehicle but once there, he was approached and robbed by two men, according to Long Beach police.

Witnesses told police that the men drove off in a dark-colored van, according to a Long Beach police press release.

A few hours after the murder, a witness in Lake Elsinore reported seeing a tan Chevrolet Suburban with four men inside parked at the victim's home.

Two of the men were black and two were Latino, a witness told police.

Detectives believe these four men burglarized the victim's home within hours of his slaying and may have a connection to his death, police said today.

The first burglary suspect is between 35 and 40, about 6 feet tall and 225 pounds, with short black hair.

One of the men in the composite sketch is black, about 225 pounds and 6 feet tall, with short black hair. He appears to be between 35 and 40 years old.

A second burglary suspect is also black, 40 to 45-years-old, about 6 feet and 205 pounds, with short, grayish black hair.

The descriptions of the burglary suspects closely match those of the murder suspects, police said.

Detectives were still working on the sketches of the Latino burglary suspects.
