Victim survives attack but little more is known about the incident.

A man was hospitalized this morning with a gunshot wound to his lower body, following a shooting in Long Beach, a police spokeswoman said.

``We did have a hit shooting,'' at Pacific Coast Highway and Henderson Avenue, at about 8 p.m. Sunday, said Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Lisa Massacani.

The victim "was transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury,'' Massacani said. ``The investigation is underway.''
