A 20-year-old Long Beach man died when he apparently lost control of his SUV on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Long Beach, going off the road and rolling over, authorities said today.

The accident occurred at 7:45 a.m. Saturday on the San Diego Freeway at Lakewood Boulevard, said California Highway Patrol Officer J. Griede.

The driver of a 1996 Honda Passport was identified as Clifton Ahumada Jenkins, said coroner's Lt. Fred Corral.

"The driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled over," Griede said.

The driver was pronounced dead about 15 minutes later, Griede said. The accident investigation continued.
