At least one person was injured Thursday when a vehicle struck a pole on the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway in Long Beach, authorities said.
The crash in the vicinity of Cherry Avenue was reported at 2 a.m., said California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball. The pole was reported down across the right lane, he said.
Paramedics took at least one person to a hospital, a Long Beach Fire Department dispatcher said. The Cherry Street offramp was temporarily closed following the crash, according to the CHP's online Traffic Incident Information Page.
