Ask Lt. Kanaley why bars open after midnight aren't charged an additional $25,000 per year Long Beach business license fee to pay for the police calls their patrons generate. That would pay for one extra cop in Belmont Shore. If those bars want to continue serving alcohol after midnight when 90% of the problems occur, those bars should have to pay for the increased expense they generate. If they don't want to pay the additional $25,000 per year, they can close their doors before midnight.

Mike, I think that those of who actually live in the Shore are perfectly cabable of asking questions on our own. Frankly, if we want the advice from someone who lives by the airport we'll ask for it. By the way, La Verne hasn't been closed by a sewage spill since I can remember. I checked all of the BSRA meeting minutes for as long as they were posted and I can't find any reference of you mentioning this. I can't believe that you wouldn't have mentioned it in open meeting.

First, the last I heard we live in a free country that grants me the right to say what I wish. Second, no matter where I live in Long Beach, I pay for the police and the over utilization of police resources impacts me. And finally, La Verne Avenue was indeed closed several times when I lived there due to sewage spills. I wrote about it in my monthly newsletter but did not put it on the monthly meeting agenda. Because you didn't find it in Jeff Miller's meeting minutes does not mean it did not happen.

Last time I checked, Mike, officers and members associations such as the BSRA must approve the minutes of the previous month by voting in order for them to be approved. As President you may have been remiss in not objecting to their exclusion (which also should be recorded), or you didn't bring it up. Which is it?

Oh, and I never said you couldn't comment. What I said, verbatim, was that "...those of who actually live in the Shore are perfectly cabable of asking questions on our own." I also stated that we didn't need your advice as someone who doesn't live in the affected area. I didn't say you couldn't express your opinion.

During my tenure, the minutes from previous meetings were circulated to BSRA boardmembers before the next meeting. There are many things I objected to in the meeting minutes and others I thought were left out. I still have the emails to prove it. Jeff Miller as BSRA Secretary wrote the meeting minutes. Furthemore, Miller refused to reliquish control of the BSRA website and edited and published the meeting minutes as he saw fit, many times irregardless of others comments. There were many tense discussions about this. Ask Nancy Buchanan. She quit the BSRA board when Miller refused her access to the the BSRA website as agreed to by all BSRA board members.

Oh come on Mike. Stop with the conspiracy theories. So now the City Council, the LBPD, the BSBA, the BSRA are all on collusion to denigrate you? Scan and post the e-mails. I double dog dare you. If the minutes edited the minutes as you suggest, why didn't you scream from the mountain tops as you are so apt to do. Your public issues with Mr. Miller, as I see it. didn't start until after you left the presidency. Could it be because the rest of the association finally saw you for who you were?

Still waiting for the e-mails.
