Gaviota Shooting Victim Identified by the Coroner

The victim of a Monday night Long Beach shooting was named.

A man who was shot and killed Monday in Long Beach was identified by the L.A. County Coroner's Office Wednesday as 42-year-old Deon Hale of Long Beach.

Hale was shot at 3:10 a.m. on Monday in the 1000 block of Gaviota Avenue, and died at the scene, said Lt. Joe Bale of the Coroner's office. The motive for the shooting was not known and no arrests have been made.
