Man's Body Found Floating in Alamitos Bay

Long Beach police and the Coroner were on scene Thursday after the man was discovered off PCH.

A passerby Thursday morning discovered the body of a man floating in Alamitos Bay near Loynes Drive and Pacific Coast Highway, and the death is being investigated as a homicide, the Long Beach Police Department confirmed.

The man's floating body was found in the Alamitos Bay waterway near the 6200 block of Pacific Coast Highway about 8:30 a.m. Thursday, the department said. That location is at Loynes Drive and docked boats visible in the photos below.

Department spokeswoman Lisa Massacani said detectives have found no signs of foul play in the Alamitos Bay incident, and the Los Angeles Coroner's Office will take over the investigation to determine the man's cause of death. That agency was still trying to identify the victim.
